On the south side of Seán Costello Street a 20th-century building (Brawny House) is to be replaced by a proposed bar and restaurant. A building survey and monitoring of demolition showed there to be no early fabric in the building. Nine trenches were opened. No features or finds of antiquity were noted. Part of a well-built stone wall was evident along part of the western side of the site. Its eastern face revealed generally small and medium-sized boulders and stone bonded with a gravelly mortar. It was at least 0.7m thick, although the western face could not be seen as it was in a separate property and was covered by tarmacadam. The wall was a maximum of 1.7m high and ran north–south for 13m. For a length of 6.5m at the south end of its eastern face it was covered with modern plaster.
