Testing took place here before the construction of an extra classroom for special-needs children. The initial trench exposed large quantities of black-glazed red earthenware, which indicated either a possible kiln site or the dump associated with one. A sample of diagnostic sherds weighing over 27kg was retained. Testing was aborted in favour of in situ preservation of the potential site. The developers agreed to raise the site with fill material and build the classroom on a raft foundation. The pots are to be the subject of a study by Rosanne Meenan.
