Monitoring of pile drilling and development works took place during upgrading of the brewery. The monitoring is to continue into 2003, when drainage associated with the new buildings will be dug. Thus far, the original surface of Mary Street, which was incorporated in the brewery in the early 19th century, has been uncovered, and all stratigraphy exposed has post-dated this roadway. The material found related to early to mid-19th-century industrial activity, associated with the brewery.
