The project in Monvoy involves the building, in phases, of 48 dwelling-houses. DĂșchas required that the clearance of topsoil for the access roads and the excavation of service trenches into the individual plots be monitored. The area is immediately north-east of Tramore, on the outskirts of the residential area. There are several known sites in the area, including a prehistoric rhyolite mine and two ringforts.
The monitoring revealed only land drains, which were all earth-cut trenches filled with loose small stones. The only datable artefact from the fill of these drains was a sherd of a cream- and brown-glazed earthenware whiskey jar from Tullow, Co. Carlow. This is likely to date to the 19th century.
