Testing was carried out on the proposed N25 alignment, of which Site 6 formed part. Three fields included in this site had not been adequately tested, and only a small section of centre-line trench had been excavated. Trenching was not permitted in Field 2, to the north-west of, and Field 3, to the north-east of, the stream. Geophysical survey was conducted only in Fields 1 and 2, and, although potential archaeological features were not encountered, this does not confirm that they do not exist. No form of assessment has been conducted in Field 3. At the time of testing, some land was waterlogged, and it was not possible to inspect the surface visually. It is recommended that in drier conditions this area of land be examined to establish whether any low-visibility features survive on the surface that may be associated with human activity.
