Testing was carried out at the townlands of Granny, Dunkitt and Strangemill as part of investigation work for the N25 Waterford Bypass. The features identified consisted of three field boundaries (of 18th- and 19th-century date) and a system of cultivation furrows that pre-date the 19th-century boundary. The geophysical survey of the area gave high magnetic readings for certain areas in the field; these enhanced readings were caused by natural changes in the subsoil. Further testing is to take place at this site in 2003.
