Monitoring was undertaken of all groundworks on a site to the east of the town of Newport. A possible bridge, SMR 37:1, and an enclosure, SMR 37:4, were close to the development. The site showed evidence of agricultural practices such as ploughing and reclamation, but nothing of archaeological significance was uncovered.
