Monitoring of groundworks at this site revealed no evidence of the medieval Augustinian abbey. The exact location of the abbey is not certain. The last vestige of this structure, a stone archway, was knocked down in 1958 and is believed to be buried in the playing pitch to the north of the present-day school.
Monitoring of the foundations of the new development uncovered the basement and walls of the 19th-century school buildings. A stone well was also found in the courtyard of the associated 19th-century farm. This well has been incorporated in the new school buildings as an architectural feature. The cellars and other walls have been preserved in situ.
