Monitoring took place of groundworks associated with the construction of a retail unit and two apartments at John’s Lane, Nenagh. The development was within the zone of archaeological potential of the town. A modern dwelling and small yard were demolished, and foundation trenches for the new development revealed a layer of building rubble in a clay matrix, 0.5m deep, which overlay the natural yellow/brown clay, 0.3m of which was excavated. Nothing of an archaeological nature was noted during the works.
