Pre-construction testing was undertaken at this location on the proposed N8 Cashel Bypass, as the topography of the land indicated the possible presence of fulachta fiadh. A centre-line strip, oriented north–south, 405m long and 1.8m wide, was opened. A series of offsets was opened at right angles to the centre strip, at 10m or 25m intervals, extending the width of the road-take.

An area of archaeological interest was uncovered in the south-eastern corner of this site. It contained curvilinear ditches, one of which was dated to 810±65 BP, a hearth, pits and a post-hole. None of the features uncovered was fully excavated.
