The site was discovered during monitoring of topsoil-stripping associated with the Nenagh Main Drainage and Sewerage Scheme and was excavated from 4 to 6 August 2002. It consisted of two contexts of burnt and charcoal-rich soil consistent with a hearth and measured 0.85m2. On excavation, it was found to be up to 0.35m deep. No artefacts were recovered.
