The rescue excavation of a fulacht fiadh was carried out between 12 August and 4 October 2002. The feature was uncovered during monitoring of topsoil-stripping under licence 02E0945 (No. 1720, Excavations 2002).
It was at the edge of a west-facing slope, adjacent to an area of peat. It did not have a definite shape, probably owing to the disturbance caused by the bulldozer while stripping the topsoil. It measured 20m by 14m.
Two pits and a rock-cut trough were uncovered during the excavation. Post-excavation work is continuing.
