The proposed development included the excavation of trenches for a public sewerage system in and around Monasteredan village. The proposed sewage pipes come close to a ringfort, SMR 46:29, and a wedge tomb, SMR 46:35. All of the excavation associated with the scheme was monitored, with most of the trenches being excavated along the village streets and roads. No archaeological evidence was revealed, most of the deposits having been disturbed by roadworks in the recent past.
