Pre-construction testing was undertaken in the townland of Tonroe, Boyle, Co. Roscommon. The works were carried out pursuant to a grant of planning permission to build a dwelling-house and associated site works. Two ringforts and an enclosure lie near the development site. Eight trenches were opened on the site before construction works. No archaeological remains were revealed.
