The site of the proposed development, a single house, access lane, septic tank and percolation area, was just outside Ballintober, Co. Roscommon. It was within the zone of archaeological potential of a well-preserved ringfort, to the south-east of the proposed development. The house will be over 30m from the ringfort, the percolation area being nearest to the monument. Testing revealed no features or finds of an archaeological nature.
