The proposed development involves the construction of a new playing pitch for the adjacent GAA club. Significant amounts of earth will have to be moved to construct the pitch, given the existing ground levels. The site is near a ringfort that was damaged during the original development of the site. The entirety of the site was tested, but no evidence of archaeological activity was found.
