Seven trial-trenches were excavated at the site of a proposed housing development within the zone of archaeological potential of Boyle town. Five trenches did not yield any features or deposits of archaeological interest. The remains of a stone wall were revealed in a trench at the rear of the site, at 0.4m below current ground level. The wall survived to a height of 1.2m and appeared to be a plot boundary/garden wall. A second stone feature was found in a trench opened in the centre of the site. It comprised a poorly preserved south-facing retaining wall that survived to two courses only. It appeared to relate to garden landscaping.
