Human remains, discovered at the edge of a gravel ridge at Clonascra near Clonmacnoise in August 2001, were excavated on 21 May 2002. A single prone human skeleton, 1.5m long, was oriented north-east/south-west. No finds were associated with the skeleton, which was in poor condition. It is hoped that radiocarbon analysis will provide a date for the remains.
