The site was tested before the construction of the M4 Kinnegad–Enfield–Kilcock Motorway Scheme, Contract 1, on foot of the recommendations of the archaeological section of the environmental impact assessment. The site consisted of an area of the access road for the motorway, near an enclosure site. As the access road passes c. 100m to the north of the enclosure, the area was trial-trenched.
A machine with a grading bucket excavated an east–west centre-line trench and five north–south offset trenches. A small number of post-medieval field drains were revealed, but no other archaeological features or deposits were exposed.
