Planning permission was granted to demolish a shed and to construct a dormer bungalow over a basement; pre-development testing was requested. The site is on the west side of Nobber village, just behind Main Street, and measures 47m by 40m. It is situated on top of a drumlin ridge, and there is a pronounced slope down to the south-east. A single-storey dwelling-house, built of stone, was demolished. The new building will be constructed on the site of the demolished house.

Two trenches tested the gable walls of the proposed building. Loose stone and clay were exposed, brought in to level the surface for the original house. Garden soil was exposed outside the back wall of the original house. Underlying natural was brown sandy boulder clay with a few stones. Nothing of archaeological significance was observed in either trench.
