An assessment of this site, on behalf of Westmeath County Council, was carried out on 1 March 2002 before the construction of the M4 Kinnegad–Enfield– Kilcock Motorway Scheme, Contract 2.
Ten test-trenches were excavated in the area of the road-take that was near a rectangular enclosure. A single cultivation furrow was exposed on this site. No other features of archaeological significance were revealed, and no finds were recovered.
