Features with archaeological potential were noted during testing of the route of the M4 Kinnegad– Enfield–Kilcock Motorway Improvement Scheme. Excavation proceeded in the area of the identified features. Apart from two post-medieval ditches, the principal features were a rectangular pit and two circular hearths. Iron slag was found on the site, though not in the hearths. The features were similar to those found on other sites in this project and appeared to be associated with charcoal making and other activities involved in the production of iron.
