Monitoring of geological test-pits along a section of the new route of the N3 Navan–Dunshaughlin Road was carried out in June 2002. It comprised the excavation of seven test-pits in four greenfield sites. An archaeological presence was required because of their proximity to archaeological features that were revealed during geophysical survey of the new route (licence 00R064). No archaeological material was identified.
