Testing took place on 9 October 2002 before an application for the construction of an agricultural building at Blackhall Big, Dunboyne, Co. Meath. The site is near the remains of SMR 50:8, a trivallate ringfort, and within a field system. Testing consisted of the excavation of two trenches by a mechanical digger fitted with a 1m toothless ditching bucket. Excavation was undertaken to the depth of natural, undisturbed subsoil. Nothing of archaeological interest was uncovered.
