Monitoring of ground disturbance took place before a proposed development at Aghagower, Westport, Co. Mayo. The monitoring was concerned with the demolition of a north-west/south-east-running wall and all ground disturbance within 20m of Tóchar Phádraig. In the area of the wall the land was marsh, and the removal of the wall and the topsoil revealed a natural marl. Monitoring of sod/topsoil removal to a depth of 0.2m in the north-west of the site revealed a light orange/brown clay in the west and a light grey marl in the east. No features of archaeological significance were uncovered.
