This excavation took place in a field known locally as the Sruitheen (‘little stream’) field, and five springs were uncovered during the monitored mechanical topsoil-stripping. In the centre of this area a fulacht fiadh was uncovered. A subcircular mound of fire-altered rock, 0.24m at its deepest and c. 8m in diameter, was found lying above a circular, unlined trough that was cut into the natural subsoil. No finds of any description were recovered during this excavation, and radiocarbon dates are pending.
