Monitoring was carried out during groundworks associated with the redevelopment of Dundalk Town Hall, Crowe Street, Dundalk, Co. Louth. The proposed development is within the zone of archaeological potential established for Dundalk. In addition, it straddles the location of one of the 16th-century defensive trenches and is close to Williamite defensive features.

Two areas were monitored: Area 1 was to the east of the town hall, and Area 2 was to the north and west, between the town hall and the courthouse. No archaeological features or deposits were exposed or identified, and no finds were recovered in either area.
