Planning permission with a condition of monitoring was granted for the building of a dwelling-house with associated services on this site, which is on flat ground north of Dromiskin village. The closest Recorded Monument is SMR 12:37, an earthwork site discovered by aerial photography. There is a large archaeological complex to the north and east (SMR 12:32), also distinguished on aerial photographs.
Monitoring was carried out during soil-stripping and excavation for wall footings. Topsoil was 0.1–0.4m deep and overlay a layer of pure sand that was consistent in texture and colour across the site. Nothing of archaeological interest was exposed during the ground disturbance.
