An assessment was undertaken on the site of a proposed housing development to the rear of 7 Drogheda Street, Collon, Co. Louth. Collon is a medieval borough designated as a zone of archaeological potential. However, recent excavations in the town have revealed no archaeological features or deposits.
To test the site of the proposed development, two test-trenches were excavated by a machine with a grading bucket. Neither trench revealed any archaeological features or deposits.
