The site was visible in section in the Bord na Móna drain face 0.5m south of the southern elements of 02E0967 (No. 1269, Excavations 2002). A single cutting, 1.5m by 2.5m, was excavated along the drain edge and 0.5m directly south of 02E0967.
The overlying peat was a maximum of 0.27m thick and was poorly humified, with a high Eriophorum and ericaceous remains content. The site itself was very small, measuring a maximum of 1.5m by 1.4m. It was composed of three parallel roundwoods and several irregularly laid small brushwoods. The roundwoods measured 51–83mm in diameter. All three had toolmarked ends. Two of the toolmarks were wedge points, and the third was a chisel point. All of the facets had been cut by a metal tool and were slightly concave. The brushwood and twig elements ranged from 3mm to 26mm in diameter and were randomly placed. This site does not appear to have any distinct form or function and may simply have been associated with the construction of the adjacent site, 02E0967.
