The monitoring of groundworks associated with the development of a single-storey dwelling at Carrigeen, Croom, did not reveal anything of an archaeological nature. The site was within the zone of potential of an earthwork. Stripping revealed a stratigraphy of topsoil, 0.1–0.2m deep, overlying the natural subsoil.
