This site was exposed during monitoring of topsoil-stripping along the route of a Bord Gáis Éireann Pipeline to the West.
Two shallow depressions were investigated. The first measured 0.3m north–south by 0.36m and was 0.02m deep. The second measured 0.3m north–south by 0.52m and was 0.02m deep. Both were filled with a similar deposit of silty clay with 8–10% charcoal flecks. The shallow nature and irregularity of the depressions, coupled with a lack of associated finds, indicated that they were stone sockets rather than of archaeological interest.
