This site was examined as part of Bord Gáis Éireann’s Pipeline to the West. A small patch of dark silt with occasional charcoal flecks was observed during monitoring. Subsequent excavation showed that this was a very thin (<5mm) amorphous deposit, measuring c. 1.2m by 0.9m. No cut or artefacts were recorded, and the deposit is best interpreted as non-archaeological surface burning caused by vegetation fire.
