The monitoring of groundworks associated with the development of four detached and sixteen semi-detached houses at Knightstreet was undertaken on a phased basis. The first phase involved the construction of three houses. The development was in the vicinity of SMR 29:107, Ballingarry village, and 29:106, a tower-house. A layer of dark brown silt topsoil, 0.3–0.4m deep, overlay the natural subsoil, a yellow/brown clay. Nothing of archaeological significance was noted during the works.
