The test excavation of a development site at Castle Street, Manorhamilton, Co. Leitrim, was carried out on 21 September 2002. The development consisted of the construction of seven terraced houses, three duplex units and three apartments and associated site works. Two trenches were excavated by machine. Modern artefacts were recovered from the topsoil. The testing revealed evidence of modern activity above natural subsoils and bedrock. Nothing of archaeological significance was uncovered.
