Pre-construction testing was undertaken to the rear of Bridge Street, Carrick-on-Shannon, as a requirement of planning permission to erect a new commercial building. Five trenches were opened, four sited on the footprint of the proposed building and the fifth to the east of the building in an area that will be paved. No archaeological remains were revealed in any of the trenches.
