Testing was carried out at Mill Road, Inistioge, as part of an archaeological assessment for a housing scheme. The site is within the zone of archaeological potential of Inistioge and is also near a holy well. Twenty trenches were opened on the site. Owing to time constraints imposed by weather conditions, a series of test-pits was excavated instead of one long trench.

One potential archaeological feature was revealed, in Test-pit 10c, in the south-east corner of Field 1. It was filled with firm, mid-orange/brown, silty clay, which contained frequent small flecks and pieces of charcoal and occasional patches of burnt clay. The feature was c. 0.4m wide but extended into the baulk at the east. No artefacts were found associated with the feature, and it is of unknown date.
