The second and final phase of monitoring at a residential development site was undertaken on 2 and 3 May 2002. The site is within the confines of a castle site and was previously subjected to testing (Excavations 1999, No. 425); no features were uncovered. Monitoring of the first phase of the development was carried out in 2001 (Excavations 2001, No. 675). An additional seven sherds of medieval pottery were recovered during this phase of monitoring, but no features were uncovered.
