This project, financed by the Commissioners of Public Works, was to convert a former schoolhouse in Rathangan, Co. Kildare, to a Garda station. The development was situated off Main Street, Rathangan, and lay within the area of archaeological potential. Rathangan’s namesake, Ioghman’s Fort, and the site of a church of c. 1299, lay in its vicinity. Testing carried out in all areas to be disturbed proved negative. No archaeological features were exposed.
