Monitoring of construction works on a mixed residential/commercial development took place at a site on the western side of Rathasker Road, which runs through the south-west outskirts of Naas, Co. Kildare. Despite the density of monuments in the locality, monitoring of topsoil-stripping did not reveal any archaeologically significant finds or features. The site had been subject to recent infilling, and the original ground surface is up to 3m below existing ground level. The development did not extend down to the original ground level in all areas, leading to the possibility that finds and features may survive below the development, apart from the underground carpark area.
