Testing was undertaken to the rear of 17 North Main Street on 25 February 2002. The site is within the medieval area of Naas, and a motte is immediately to its rear. Archaeological investigations during the late 1970s on a site to the immediate south uncovered 13th-/14th-century pits, and further investigations undertaken by Clare Mullins at 19 North Main Street (Excavations 1999, No. 417, 99E0055) uncovered a rubbish pit of medieval date.
Seven trenches were excavated, uncovering a layer of natural gravels and sands. Nothing of archaeological interest was revealed.
