The building at the street-front end of the site proved to be of 18th-century date, much altered and not of great significance.
Two test-trenches were excavated at the rear of the property in September 2002. These revealed a large and deep, early medieval or medieval ditch crossing the site. Dúchas has recommended that the site be excavated before development.
