Excavation was carried out on behalf of Westmeath County Council at Kilrathmurray 2, Co. Kildare, before the construction of the M4 Kinnegad– Enfield–Kilcock Motorway Scheme, Contract 2, on 11 and 12 September 2002. The site had been noted during route testing as a severely truncated burnt spread but was in fact the remains of a very decayed stone. No other features were noted in the immediate area. The site was of no archaeological significance.
