Monitoring was carried out from October to December 2002 on behalf of Kildare County Council of the laying of a 4.98m stretch of water main along part of the regional road (R417) linking Monasterevin and Athy, Co. Kildare. The water-main scheme was conducted using the ‘trenchless technology’ mole system. Nothing of archaeological interest came to light.
