Monitoring at the site of a container park at the Defence Forces’ Training Centre, Curragh Military Camp, Co. Kildare, was undertaken from 16 to 19 October 2002. The development is an extension to the recently constructed transport technical stores complex. The development site is within the confines of SMR 23:76, an archaeological complex.
All topsoil-stripping, down to the underlying, natural subsoil, was monitored. This work was undertaken using a mechanical excavator fitted with a toothless ditching/grading bucket. No features or finds of archaeological interest were uncovered.
