Monitoring of a sewage pipeline in the archaeological complex at the Curragh Military Camp was carried out in December 2002. The route of the pipeline did not encroach on any of the known archaeological sites in this complex. During topsoil-stripping along the pipeline corridor two possible features of archaeological significance were identified. These lay outside the direct route of the pipeline and were not investigated further. However, as a precautionary measure, a test-trench was excavated along the immediate route of the pipeline in the area of these features. This trench did not reveal any further archaeological material. Further monitoring in association with this scheme will continue in 2003.
