Testing was undertaken at a development site at Church Road, Athy, Co. Kildare, on 4 June. The site is c. 250m to the south of the southern limit of the zone of archaeological potential of Athy. Four trenches were excavated by machine. The testing revealed a layer of topsoil, 0.34m deep, overlying an undisturbed gravel subsoil. No features or artefacts of archaeological interest were uncovered.
