Pre-development testing was undertaken at Killeen, Tralee, Co. Kerry, after the demolition of a late 17th-century Cromwellian estate house. Before any work was carried out, a full standing building survey was undertaken. The standing remains were in a very dangerous, dilapidated state and included the relict remains of a late 17th-century gable and 19th- and 20th-century additions and alterations. A very fine early 19th-century entrance façade was retained. Three small test-trenches were opened on the footprint of six proposed townhouses on the site.
