Test-trenches were excavated by machine before the construction of two dwellings in Lahard, Beaufort, Co. Kerry. Part of the development site falls within the zone of archaeological potential of an enclosure, SMR 65:18, and is near the zone of potential of a second enclosure immediately to the south-west, SMR 65:17.
Ten trenches were opened, 5–16m long, 1.8m wide and 0.2–0.3m deep. No archaeological remains were uncovered.
