The development at Killowen, Kenmare, consisted of the construction of three dwellings and a service road. The site was near the zone of potential of standing stones. After the removal of topsoil to a depth of 0.3–0.6m, the natural subsoil was reached. There were moderate occurrences of limestone bedrock throughout the site. Nothing of an archaeological nature was noted.
